It was a long day. Friends came by after work for beers, and imagine my surprise when I opened the back door to let Lucy out and there was a dead gopher at the door. Yes, I screamed. Yes, I was very grateful John didn’t mind picking it up and throwing it away for me. The boys brought me a dead bird earlier this week. I hope this isn’t all a sign of what my summer is going to be like with them and critters.
In happier news, today I’m feeling a little more hopeful about my situation. I received some good news in the mail and I think things are going to work out okay for me.

omg, a dead gopher! but i remember seeing a dead gopher in my yard when i was a kid. just one of those things a kid might see while growing up.
