My quiet Sunday morning went caput when Lucy injured herself while playing outside with the boys this morning. My best guess, which the vet agreed with, was that her leg slipped between the chain link fence and she ripped it when she pulled it out. She cut it deeply enough that the tendons were visible. The strange thing was she really didn’t act like it bothered her, and if I hadn’t seen drops of blood I might not have known about it until she came inside. She had minor (general it says on the invoice) surgery when we got to the vets, and she did very well they said. Now all I need to do is keep her from chewing off the bandage on her leg for the next few days, as well as shoving pills down her throat twice a day. (Because she so hates taking them that she will eat the cheese around the pill and drop the pill if I try to give them to her that way.) She did let Sarah pet her afterwards, which is a first. The boys were very happy to have her home and have been letting her know.
I need a nap.

Poor Lucy! I hope her leg heals quickly.
Oh no! Yes, poor Lucy! I sure hope she has a speedy recovery.
