Cold Weather and Cracking Floors

December 29th, 2007   Filed under: Everyday life, Life in Arizona, Pets

I finished taking down the Christmas decorations today, including the outside ones. As much as I enjoy them, theres’ something nice about how spacious things look when they’re down.

It’s still chilly here…the temp hasn’t been much above 60F all week, which is very unusual. The dogs and I were watching tv this afternoon when I heard this cracking sound. It scared Lucy (and me). I checked the windows and the ceiling, but I suspect it was coming from the floor, although there are no visible cracks anywhere. It continued on for 20 minutes or so but seems to have stopped for now. I consulted with John but he wasn’t really able to diagnose the problem over the phone. Now the tile has been installed for 2 1/2 years so I would think whatever settling was going to happen would have by now, but maybe not. It’s definitely been colder this winter than it has since I moved here. Speaking of which, it was 3 years ago today that I moved to Arizona. It always amazes me when I think of how much my life has changed in the past three years.

Here’s to warmer weather and floors that don’t make cracking sounds.

That’s odd if your floors are cracking! I hope no problems arise from what you’ve heard!

Happy Anniversary being in AZ!!! I am sure you still feel it was a good move for you!

    Hugs!

Happy Anniversary, I didn’t realize it has been 3 whole years. Does it seem like a lot of time or not? We are very happy that you moved here, it has changed our lives a lot. My job is better, I make more money and love my job very much I don’t have to tell you that when the 3 of us are together, we are as irrevrant as we can be. It is a shame, but we are as irreverantl as we can be! We have a friendship like none that we have had before. It’s great and we enjoy having you with us. Love you and will see you soon, Sarah and JOhn
