You Just Never Know

One of my colleagues went in for gall bladder surgery yesterday morning. He was unable to go home yesterday because his blood pressure was up. This morning his white blood cell count was very high…he’s in surgery right now to have a drain put in to hopefully stabilize him so they can insert a stint tomorrow morning to repair the damage. Apparently the gall bladder was so full of infection that it had damaged a duct leading to liver.
A simple outpatient procedure has now become 3 surgeries (so far) with an unknown lenghth of hospital stay…

Yikes! That happened many years ago to my grandfather’s fiance. She went in for a routine procedure and died on the operating table a few hours later. Surgery is SERIOUS STUFF - even when doctors claim it’s “routine.” Hope your co-worker recovers!!
I can’t say I’ve ever been on the operating table, but my wife had surgery a few years ago and it can be very scary, and anything can happen. I pray that your co-worker gets through alright.
But yes, one never knows when it comes to one’s health. We can only do our best. Hope he’s okay.
I will say a prayer for your coworker. Thank you for taking the time to post about them.
I hope your colleague will be fine. It sounds like he had the surgery just in the nick of time.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.
That is so scary ! I wish him well.
