Love Lingers

October 28th, 2007   Filed under: Missing Mom, Uncategorized

Love lingers. Her perfume
I smell all around me. Her voice
I hear soothingly in my dreams
where she still lives. Her touch
awakens my skin and my soul.
Her smile is etched in my mind
where it warms my heart. Her pain
speaks to me of her courage, the
strength of her last days. Her
gentleness is reflected in those
who gave her care. She vanishes.
And I am overwhelmed with grief.
But her love lingers
and gives me strength.

Serious Questions

What would you do if someone threatened your life? Or to hurt you?

Would you assume it was mere words said in the “heat” of the moment”?

Back For A Quick Addition (and Subtraction) Lesson

June 19th, 2007   Filed under: Uncategorized

[start rant. This has nothing to do with anything online. I just needed to vent and didn't feel venting to children was appropriate.)

I'm definitely not back, but felt obligated to give a little addition lesson after hearing some of the lies being spread about me.

If you have $13,000 in bills paid off through my refinance of my mortgage (I have the papers to prove it), and then you take out another $10,000 loan, also in both our names, that means you in essence owe me $23,000.

$13,000+$10,000=$23,000.

Granted, I owe you perhaps $8000, maybe even $9000 if you push it.

Now do the math: $23,000(you owe)-$9,000 (I owe, and we'll even use the greater of the two)=$14,000.

Which means I owe you nothing. You've made your intentions perfectly clear. Leave me alone. Stop talking about me.

(end rant. Thank you for listening.)

Jordin Sparks, American Idol

May 23rd, 2007   Filed under: Uncategorized

So Jordin Sparks won American Idol. She’s from Glendale AZ (just outside of Phoenix) which is where I’ll be graduating in July. The Arizona Cardinals play at the University of Phoenix Stadium located in Glendale.

While I have to admit I’ve never watched the show, Sandee tells me she’s very talented and deserved to win.

More importantly to me, there are only two days left of school!!!

Which Tarot Card Are You?

May 23rd, 2007   Filed under: Uncategorized

Snagged from Carlos.

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

Ewwww….Mold

April 2nd, 2007   Filed under: Uncategorized

I’m terribly allergic to mold. When my house flooded, within 48 hours I was sick because of the mold spores in the wet carpeting. I was wheezing and it was very difficult to breathe. I needed mold removal and I needed it quickly! As soon as the culprit carpets (and padding) were ripped up, my breathing improved. The more I learn about mold, the more convinced I am that when you find mold, you need professional help to get rid of it. It’s the one sure way to make sure the mold problem is thoroughly taken care of for your safety, and the safety of your family.

Sallie Mae Student Loans

March 31st, 2007   Filed under: Uncategorized

If you are planning to go to college, or have a child who’s planning to, Sallie Mae Loans is the place to start. Financial aid can be a nightmare, and the reality is that most students end up needing a college loan to financially survive the college year. The site walks you through the process and helps you make informed decisions. What I like is that when you qualify for a loan, Sallie Mae contacts you immediately to make sure you understand the process so that there are no surprises along the way. Sallie Mae offers loans in Connecticut,
New Jersey
, and many other states. Finally, a user-friendly student loan program.
